Bath Businesses Raise £2,880 For Bath Rugby Foundation
Two Rugby World Cup themed initiatives have raised £2,880 for the Bath Rugby Foundation. The initiatives, organised by Bath PR consultancy Geometry PR, involved a sweep stake which saw 20 businesses take part in a draw where each business paid to have a team.
The holders of the winning New Zealand team was Jim Currant and John Lyddy of Box based Minerva Sports & Prestige, who won a trip to Farleigh House. The PR agency also held a rugby themed quiz night at the Green Park Function rooms which sold out attracting 120 people from the business community . The winning team, from financial services company Fidelius, won lunch for four at the Brasserie.
For the past ten years Geometry PR has raised funds for the Bath Rugby Foundation, Linda Donaldson, Managing Director of Geometry PR said “The Bath business community are very good at getting behind the Bath Rugby Foundation and we felt that the Rugby World Cup was a great opportunity to have a bit of fun and raise some money for our corporate charity. I am really pleased that we managed to raise so much and very grateful to everyone that took part and in particular Graze who laid on a superb launch evening for us at the Brewhouse and the Green Park Function Rooms who once again hosted the quiz night and provided the prize for the winning team.”
Halena Coury of the Bath Rugby Foundation said “The money raised by Geometry will help fund the Inclusive After School Club over the coming year. We are so grateful to all the businesses that took part but especially to Linda and her team that worked hard to deliver some fun and unusual fundraising activity.”
The Bath Rugby Foundation supports children of all ages and abilities in the local community through the delivery of a number of educational and sports programmes. It is a charity that relies entirely on donations and grants and has a number of fundraising challenges for 2016 including spaces in the Bath Half Marathon and an opportunity to cycle the length of Ireland.
