Bath Racecourse Unveils New Branding
Bath Racecourse has unveiled new branding that both reflects the venue’s 205 year heritage and celebrates the opening of its £multimillion new facilities at Lansdown that include a new luxury grandstand overlooking the final furlong, and a new hospitality stand.
In keeping with the new branding, that firmly underlines the venue’s heritage and close community ties with the city of Bath and surrounding areas, the new buildings have been appropriately named after the neighbouring villages of Langridge and Kelston.
Individual facilities within the venue have also been branded to once again reinforce heritage and local ties, with the large capacity second floor restaurant / function room of the new Langridge grandstand named after the world famous Royal Crescent, which celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2017. The ground floor bar of the same building will be named 1811 to reflect the year the racecourse was established.
Within the Kelston hospitality stand the ground floor bar will be named Beckford after William Beckford, the wealthy property mogul of the early 19th century who erected Beckford Tower in 1827. The location of the original racecourse track is thought to have been close to the tower.
Speaking about the new branding, Jo Hall, Executive Director of Bath Racecourse said “We have worked to make sure the branding across the site has a strong relevance to our location and history. The new logo and ‘BR’ emblem was inspired by the use of monograms used by the Georgians, while the solid line and dotted line around it represent an arena and the old wall that encapsulated the Roman City. At the same time the branding is both reverential of history and is modern and contemporary to celebrate this exciting new phase as we near the completion of our new facilities.”
The first phase of the redevelopment of Bath Racecourse coincides with the season opening race night which takes place Friday 15 April 2016.
