Tell us a little bit about yourself…

David Dixon, Sales and Marketing Director at N3 Display Graphics.

I’ve been in the print industry for over 17 years. Joined N3 Display Graphics in 2023 moving from a role as an all round general marketing services provider in Bath to a specialist large format, signage and exhibition provider.

I have also enjoyed a spell as a local councillor for 13 years, culminating with a 4 year period as deputy leader of Bath and North East Somerset Council.

What inspired you to fulfil a career in this industry?

I have always been inspired by the ability and skill in converying a message or brand in the physical form. Visual communication is key in today’s society and for me there’s a joy in seeing a project through to physical completion and having a client, no matter how big or small overjoyed by seeing their business branding in print or signage.

What services do you provide?

We are a full service large format printer, manufacturer and installer. We can provide anything from large posters, to exhibition display graphics, pop up banners, aboard, shop frontages, window graphics, printed hoarding panel and signage. If it needs to be printed and displayed, we can do it all.

What do you do to be sustainable and eco-friendly?

It’s important as a business to constantly review what you do, how you do it and your impact on the environment. We are also looking at new material and processes including production kit.

Out latest investment in flatbed latex inks technology means that we are using ink which are more environmentally friendly than traditional solvent based inks and we are able to print onto a wider range of materials. These materials include direct printing onto eco board which is fully recyclable as well as ply wood panels for outdoor sign and exhibition displays.

A great exemple of this was working on a project with The Group of Seven and Westonbirt Aboretum. We creates timber ‘Tree’ constructions, 3D digitally routed from marine-ply, printed and finally treated, before bonding together around a box steel inner support. Finally mounted to existing tree stumps, with exterior grade fixings and resin, without the need to excavate footings for cement fixing and to withstand the rigours of a permanent outdoor life.

Our standard pop-up banners are now produced using a PVC-free material, this can be separated from the aluminium cassette, which is also recyclable and the end of life and added to your plastics recycling. View their eco-friendly products here.

We have also added solar panels to our production unit in Warmley this year, generating our own power. We are looking forward to the summer when the sun will be beating down on those panels! 

It’s these small changes that can make a difference.
