SEPTEMBER TALK WITH ERYKAH GOODSHIP FROM BLACK NOVA DESIGNS

September is here. It's the month when autumn officially arrives - the autumn equinox is on September 22. What does this month hold for you and your business? What are you looking forward to for the rest of this year? What events are pending for you? What advice would you give to others? What are you grateful for in September?

Today we're talking to Erykah Goodship, who is sales and marketing representative at Black Nova Designs. The company specialises in IT solutions (such as website hosting and design, Wi-Fi networks, cyber security and more!) and is based in Calne. 

What’s coming up for the business this month?

A new social media strategy! I have created, along with Danielle, a brand-new marketing plan to make the most of Black Nova Design’s social media platforms. This will consist of daily posts about services we offer, our top tips surrounding everything IT, new updates and any features from the week – along with lots more. 

Additionally, we have scheduled multiple networking events to attend so we can meet more of our clients face-to-face. 

What are your personal plans for this month?

After a fabulous summer full of holidays and amazing foods, I am keen to get back to my gym schedule. It is a great way of boosting my morale as well as feeling physically stronger, I just love it! 

I am also excited to celebrate lots of birthdays and weddings which are upcoming very soon. 

But most importantly, I cannot wait to continue to grow with Black Nova Designs and push myself to achieve the best results we can from the business. 

September is also known as ‘organic’ month – do you shop, dress, or behave with green ethics in mind? 

I believe in buying second-hand clothes from charity shops and my friends and family. It is a great way to avoid paying into fast fashion as this is an important global environmental issue. 

However, my generation are enjoying thrifting and becoming increasingly conscious of the impact of fast fashion which is amazing! 

As well, my family have always loved gardening – especially my grandparents. So, most of our meals consist of fruits and vegetables that have been home grown in multiple Wiltshire gardens.

World Gratitude Day takes place this month – what are you grateful for at the moment?

I am grateful for having found such an amazing job at my age, with an incredible team. It couldn’t have worked out better.

What are your hopes for business in general this year? 

Achieve 4,000 Instagram followers which will result in more and more engagement for the business, and hopefully sales!

For both new and current clients to begin contacting us more via social media. There is so much information on our social channels which can be accessed by anyone.

To have plans for another member of staff to join soon, we’re growing so quickly at the moment so will need one!

Have you got any events planned you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending? 

This November Danielle and I are attending our business coach Tara Punter’s mindset retreat which is already sold out! The retreat aims to help with networking and business support as well as inspire new ideas, all in the spectacular surroundings of the Cotswolds. Tara’s website link is www.tarapuntercoaching.co.uk

And finally, as a bit of fun, September marks Teddy Bear Day? Do you have your childhood teddy bear – or are you a bit of a kid with ‘grown up’ teddy bears? 

Yes! I have a Harrods bear called Horis who still sits in my wardrobe and my younger sister loves him!
