South Glos Expo is Launched
Two Bristol entrepreneurs have joined forces to run a business expo in their own community.
Entrepreneurs Esther James and Louise Elliott have joined forces to run the first South Glos Expo to support and showcase small businesses in their own community.
The event will take place on Tuesday May 9 at the Bristol and Bath Science Park at Emerson’s Green, near Bristol and is aimed at sole traders, microbusinesses and SMEs based in South Gloucestershire or those companies wishing to becoming known in that area. Booking for the event is now open.
Esther James, who runs her own social media management company Socialable and Louise Elliot, who has her own sales consultancy Elevate Your Business, met in 2015 and came up with the idea of the Expo. Both of them live in the South Gloucestershire area.
Esther said: “We often talked about being part of the very active and vibrant Bristol business community and being able to attend many events in the city itself but lamented the fact there were few events for business people in the greater Bristol area, particularly close to our homes.”
“We just thought organising an event which showcased this area was a great idea. We have a thriving local business community too – and people want to get to know the businesses in this area. Since we’ve started this project, we cannot believe the support we’ve had,” Louise said.
The inaugural expo will feature an exhibit area with up to 30 businesses showcasing their products and services. There will also be workshops, speed networking and a keynote speaker whose identity will be revealed soon.
