TGt Meets... Tim Moss
Following Moss of Bath winning ‘Best Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer 2017’, ‘Best Website 2017’ as well as ‘Highly Commended for Outstanding Customer Service’ at the Innovative Electrical Retailer Awards 2017, we caught up with the Owner and Director, Tim Moss, to discover more about his business and life in Bath.
Where is home and why?
I was born in Bath but decided to emigrate 20 years ago to the village of Monkton Farleigh. It is very quiet, beautifully picturesque and I can be in Bath in 15 minutes.
Describe your business in one sentence…
Moss of Bath is an award winning independent television and hi-fi retailer and installer.
What’s been your biggest achievement to date?
Raising two extraordinary children.
What are your professional goals?
This year Moss of Bath celebrate 55 years in business. I would love to think that we will be celebrating our 65th, 75th and beyond as Bath’s premiere home entertainment retailer.
What do you think attracts business people to Bath?
Opportunity, a diverse mix of businesses, transport links to London and, could there be a more beautiful place to set up a business?
If you could do it all again, would you do anything differently?
I would love to have been an architect.
How do you like to spend your time off?
Walking the dog, a round of golf at Cumberwell Park and watching Bath Rugby at The Rec.
Where’s your favourite place to eat out in Bath?
For relaxed atmosphere and superb wine list it’s definitely ‘Corkage’ on Walcot Street. And for the best brunch in the city it has to be ‘The Green Bird Cafe’ St. Margarets Buildings. To be honest we are spoiled for choice in Bath.
Who’s your favourite Bath Rugby Player? (Current or retired)
David Flatman (he paid me to say this)... but my wife Annie would choose Jeremy Guscott!
