Young entrepreneur wins Influencer Award and is named ‘one to watch” in the property management industry
Young entrepreneur Jodie Fraser, who has been running her block management business for only five years, has scooped a prestigious award in the Property Management 50 (PM50) Awards 2021.
Jodie, who lives near Bristol, is the founder and managing director of Fraser Allen Estate Management and was nominated for the Influencer Award by satisfied customers, business colleagues and associates. Those nominations were judged by a panel of experts within the property management industry.
The awards spanned six categories to allow for industry-wide acknowledgement of: Property Managers; Influencers; Build to Rent; Rising Stars; Suppliers and Legends.
Jodie said: “I am so grateful to receive this award however property management is a team effort and I believe that all those involved in my company are also winners.”
The judges explained what made Jodie stand out: “Jodie has continually stepped out and consistently delivered outstanding service throughout the pandemic. Her attention to detail and her approach with elderly clients is outstanding. Her commitment to be a Dementia-Friendly business is a credit to her. During the pandemic, her business has doubled in size and still exceeded her clients’ expectations. She is the one to watch!”
Fraser Allen Property Management, with offices in Bristol and Cheltenham, specialises in residential block management and is a proud dementia-aware business. Currently the business manages 21 blocks across the South West and in London.
When Jodie first set up her business, she was also caring for her grandfather who had cancer and her grandmother who suffers with dementia. With first-hand experience of her grandma’s Alzheimer’s, Jodie ensured that anyone in the communities served by Fraser Allen Estate Management did not need to feel worried or distressed around the issue of dementia.
“Many of the properties I look after are homes of older people and I want them and their families to know that we are there for them and that we will support them,” explained Jodie.
During the main 2020 lockdown, Jodie set up a team of volunteers to help those who were vulnerable or shielding and living in her company’s managed properties. From shopping for food to giving residents a call to check in, and from collecting prescriptions and medicines to posting letters, Jodie and her team made sure that no one felt alone or needed to worry about managing essentials tasks.
The PM50 Awards were created in 2019 to provide a platform for recognition and celebration of those who work within the property management industry and to acknowledge the incredible dedication that has been shown and the hard work that has gone on in the face of the pandemic.
Jodie was also named as Property Manager of the Year 2020 for ‘going that extra mile in an exceptional year’ and, more recently, was named as one of the nation’s Small Business 100 in a national campaign highlighting some of the UK’s most inspiring small businesses.
It is in Jodie’s make-up to be driven and ambitious and Jodie believes that she owes her success to genuinely caring about her clients and residents and understanding their needs.
“I don’t see the properties I manage as buildings,” she said, “but as homes with residents that need to be looked after.”
