Military Wives Choir to Perform at The Rec

Fresh from singing at the Classical Brit Awards at the end of the last year, the Warminster Military Wives Choir will be bringing some serenity to temper the rough and tumble at the Recreation Ground.

This Saturday Bath Rugby take on London Irish in a crucial Aviva Premiership game.

The Choir, formed as part of the Military Wives Choir Foundation, will perform two sets - one before the game in the ground and the other at half-time on the hallowed turf.

Bath have a proud history of working with our Armed Forces, particularly in the local area, and this link with the wives and girlfriends of one of our closest garrisons is another example of our support.

The Choir was established in February 2012, and have achieved great success since, including an appearance on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff, a private concert at the speaker’s apartment in the House of Commons and singing at the Diamond Jubilee Concert in June, contributing to the performance of Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Number One hit single, ‘Sing’. The year was rounded off with Choir members singing at both the Classical Brits Awards in October, and a special choir performance shown after the Queen’s Speech on Christmas Day.

Tickets are still available for this weekend’s game against London Irish at the Rec, so come down and enjoy a little bit of tranquillity in the middle of what promises to be an exhilarating game of rugby.
