Milsom Place Announces Programme During Bath In Fashion 2014
Milsom Place is the official hub of Bath in Fashion 2014, hosting headline talks and an exhibition and fashion fair.
Located at the heart of fashionable North Bath, the Octagon building has been chosen as the host venue for 2014.
Sarah Mansfield Director of Milsom Place who also chairs Bath in Fashion said “Milsom Place is delighted to be hosting so many prominent speakers from the world of fashion – past and present. It promises to be an exciting week with something for everyone”.
Fifty years ago, Barbara Hulanicki created a new label, BIBA shifting attitudes and introducing affordable fashion with her iconic designs. In the same way that she built a devoted following, today’s designers, Meadham Kirchhoff are revered by the current generation of fashionistas with their sensational shows at London Fashion Week. Two of the UK’s most respected fashion commentators, Hilary Alexander and Sarah Mower will lead the conversation at Bath in Fashion’s headline talks. Tickets are now on sale at bathinfashion.co.uk.
Other talks in the Octagon at Milsom Place look at the business of fashion with The Managing Director of Top Shop, Mary Homer, and Paolo Gabrielli, Creative Director of Clarks. Nina Campbell brings a master class on interiors and Creative Director of Gieves & Hawkes, Jason Basmajian talks to Esquire’s Style Editor, Teo van der Broeke about men’s style. Gieves & Hawkes will also be mounting a pop up exhibition in the Octagon showcasing beautiful photography of their archive by Swedish photographer Bruno Ehrs.
Following the success of their innovative Selvedge Fairs in London, the magazine is curating a special one-off event for Bath in Fashion 2014 bringing thirty designers of fashion and accessories to the Octagon, for a one day fair on 9th May.
Milsom Place stores will be launching their own events for Bath Life Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday 8th May with style counsel on the season’s fashions at Phase Eight and Hobbs plus accessories for the summer by Magpie & Bear. Café Culture in Bath centres around the courtyards in Milsom Place, the place to meet up with friends before a Bath in Fashion event or for dinner afterwards in Carluccio’s, Cote or Jamie’s Italian.
