Your Total Guide To eating & drinking
The food was mouth-wateringly good and the staff a delight, we will definitely be returning again soon!
Independently owned French restaurant Bistrot Pierre, will bring a certain joie de vivre to Bath with great value French cuisine to the city centre.
Heading up the new bistrot are Hinde Bouchayeb, (general manager) and Frederic Fetiveau, (head chef). Originally from southern France, Hinde joined Bistrot Pierre in 2012 and has progressed through the group’s internal training programme, beginning as a waitress and working her way up to general manager.
Fetiveau began his career in La Rochelle before moving to Paris to work in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants. He’ll be working in an open kitchen, located towards the back of the building that utilises the building’s curved ceiling and lantern roof light. “It is a handsome building” he comments, “and a great kitchen. Bistrot Pierre is delighted to be opening in Bath and I’m thrilled to be part of it. All of our dishes will be freshly prepared in our kitchen every day using a mix of artisan produce and carefully sourced ingredients, just as in any continental bistrot.”
The bistrot seats 90 diners and is located in one of the city’s traditional Georgian townhouses, which was extended in the early 19th century. Devon-based architects Gillespie Yunnie have worked to keep all the period features, surrounding them with traditional décor. The effect has been to create a warm, welcoming ambience that successfully showcases both the food and the building.
Co-founder Robert Beacham said: “We are so excited to open the doors in Bath. Bistrot Pierre is about great food and a buzzing bistrot atmosphere. We think the people of Bath will love what we have to offer.”
The menu features much-loved French classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and crème brûlée to lighter bistrot dishes. Opening daily for lunch, dinner and breakfast at weekends.
