Bath BID launches first ever Bath Restaurant Week to celebrate the city’s much-acclaimed food culture

Bath BID is launching the first ever Bath Restaurant Week in the World Heritage City, with sponsorship from Italian beer, Angelo Poretti and with Hospitality Action as its chosen charity partner.

Bath Restaurant Week will run from 3rd - 11th May 2025 inclusive and is a brand new nine-day event designed to celebrate the incredible array of restaurants, cafes and bars in Bath, that has seen Time Out describe the city as “one of the world’s most exciting foodie destinations in 2025.”

Bath BID is an independent, not for profit, business-led initiative working to create the environment for businesses in Bath to succeed. The organisation was eager to find a way to recognise and support hospitality businesses in the city and Alex Peters, Director at Bath Pizza Co and Green Park Brasserie, developed the idea of running a Bath-specific restaurant week in order to do so.

Establishments across Bath will be invited to list their offerings on the Bath Restaurant Week website for customers to access during the nine-day event.  Bath BID has designed the campaign to be flexible and bespoke, encouraging business participants to use it in the way which best suits their business model and gives them the opportunity to showcase their brand to new and existing customers. Whether that be offering tasting menus, new dishes, signature cocktails, lunchtime opening hours or special offers.

The Restaurant Week Campaign will be as diverse as the food offerings in the city and invites customers to find new favourites, share a treat with friends, discover the newest arrivals and make the most of the longer evenings as we go into May.

Allison Herbert, CEO of Bath BID, commented: “As a city, Bath offers an inexhaustible selection of incredible food, drink and event offerings. And inside every restaurant, café and bar, is a team of exceptionally hard-working individuals who are passionate about providing top-quality customer service and refreshments to residents and visitors of Bath.

“Every year these businesses are busy behind the scenes keeping our city vibrant and exciting for locals but also looking after the six million people that visit Bath every year. This event is our way of showing appreciation for these crucial establishments but also giving them the space and resources to highlight their culinary and beverage offerings and to reach new customers.”

Bath Restaurant Week is being sponsored by the Italian beer Angelo Poretti, part of Carlsberg Britvic, which will be partnering with various businesses across the event. Barry Fortin, Business Development Manager at Carlsberg Britvic added: “We are delighted to be able to support Bath Restaurant Week and the many excellent establishments that loyally serve the city. Being involved in local events designed to celebrate those in the industry and that encourage collaboration and partnerships between businesses is something we are really passionate about. We can’t wait to watch this first ever event come to life!”

To promote the restaurant week and to raise vital funds for the brilliant charity Hospitality Action, Bath BID is organising a waiters’ race on Monday 7th  April which will take place on the iconic Royal Crescent.

The race will involve 32 teams of waiters racing (no running allowed!) in relays around the famous Royal Crescent holding trays full of glasses of water. Winners will be judged on both their speed and their technique. Businesses will be able to buy team places from Thursday 13th February 2025 via the Bath Restaurant Week website.

Mark Lewis, Chief Executive at Hospitality Action, said of the event: “With so many incredible and delicious restaurants, Bath has plenty to be proud of. Bath Restaurant Week is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the city's culinary scene, and we're honoured to be the chosen charity for its very first edition. This exciting event will not only celebrate Bath’s incredible culinary talent but will also help raise vital funds Hospitality Action. The waiters' race promises to be a thrilling highlight, and we can’t wait to see who wins!"

Bath Restaurant Week is free for Bath BID member businesses and there are paid options for non-member businesses. Businesses will be able to submit their dining deal, special event or menu via Bath BID from 13th February until 14th March 2025, and the Bath Restaurant Week website will go live on 1st April 2025.
