Novel Wines Annual Wine Tasting Party A Huge Hit
Saturday 23rd September saw the Novel Wines Annual Wine Tasting party.
Not only was this an exciting evening in their calender but it was also Novel Wines very first Birthday! (Happy Birthday from everyone at Team Total). The evening showcased their entire, unique and sometimes undiscovered selection of Wines Ben and Gyorgy have chosen to be part of their range.
The evening truly was a journey of discovery. I attended with my Mum and Dad who, like me are avid wine lovers. Not knowing what to expect from the huge selection from countries such as the Americas, Asia and even India we dove straight in and began our journey in Uruguay. Having not tried wines from this part of the world before it really opened my eyes as to what each country gives to the wine industry and how they all have as many different characteristics as the different grape varieties you normally associate with wine. The standout wine for me though was a 2015 Indian Shiraz called Sula Vinyards Dindori Reserve which was a delight to drink, easy on the palate and with just enough spice to not overpower what you were serving it with. It went down all to easily, especially with all the gorgeous bruschetta that was available too!
One thing that stood out to me the most though was their knowledge of the wines in their selection. I was awestruck by the detail in which Ben was able to describe to me how and when he acquired a particular vintage and the whole story behind it. Ben beautifully told the story behind how he got a particular Japanese wine and eloquently described the tasting notes to go with it. At this point I was sold and I would be lying if I said I hadn't started to fill up a cart online with wines I need in my life for Christmas.
Novel Wines' huge range of wines is only complimented by their knowledge of their hand selected range and the stories behind each bottle made for a fantastic showcase of their business and I for one will certainly be buying from them in the future! Now, back to filling up my online cart with that Indian Shiraz!
