REVIEW: Bottomless Brunch at The Canon

As we head into the warmer, sunnier months, there is simply nothing better than enjoying a hearty bottomless brunch in the city of Bath. Top of our list was The Canon, a popular and lively pub located in the city centre.

Their extensive bottomless brunch menu comes in at just £28pp for two hours, so we simply had to give it a try. At first glance the menu was super impressive, with plenty of options for both vegetarians and vegans, and upgrades available if you fancied something a little extra.

The drinks menu provides you with plenty of options from Prosecco to cocktails to lagers. We opted for a cheeky Pink Spritz Cocktail, that consisted of Gordon’s Premium Pink gin with lemonade, topped with Prosecco and served with a slice of orange and lemon. We also had an Inch’s Cider – because you can’t go far wrong with cider on a sunny day!

The cocktail was undoubtedly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had – I am a pink gin lover so I knew it would go down a treat, but the sweetness of that cocktail was unmatched.

Food-wise, we opted for Sweet-A-Bisc Crumpets - three soft crumpets served with Nutella, Biscoff and fresh whipped cream. This tremendously sweet dish certainly hit the soft spot and is ideal for chocolate lovers like myself – it was an absolute dream!

We also ordered The Melt, which was a delicious beef burger filled with bacon, cheese, lettuce, burger sauce and sided with skinny fries. You can’t go wrong with a classic burger, but The Canon certainly exceeded all expectations. The beef was cooked to perfection, the toppings were very generous, the fries were piping hot and crispy and we were certainly left feeling very satisfied.

We must also commend the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, who served our drinks and dishes in great time, and cleared our plates very soon after we’d finished.

We were visiting on a Tuesday lunchtime, so it wasn't too busy but this pub is well equipped for busy periods with plenty of tables spread across two floors, so lots of space for you and your group to enjoy a delicious bottomless brunch.

If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy Bottomless Brunch in the beautiful city of Bath, then you must make The Canon on Barton Street (opposite the Theatre Royal) top of your list. You won't regret it!
