Revolution Bath set to close its doors for good

Revolution Bath is set to close its doors for good following financial struggles caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. The decision to close will be put to creditors in a vote on 13th November as the managing company looks to impose cost-saving measures.

A favourite with students and those heading to Bath for a night out, Revolution Bath is one of the city’s most popular bars with their cocktail masterclasses and frequent 2-4-1 offers a hit with the Bath’s university students.

The George Street venue is one of six locations that the bar and restaurant chain is set to close after curfew restrictions imposed on the hospitality sector by the Government saw the companies overall takings drop by more than a third.

Revolution operates 50 bars across the country, and along with its Bath bar will also close venues in Birmingham, Solihull, Sunderland, America Square and Clapham.

The decision to close Revolution Bath comes after creditors of the firm’s subsidiary company, Revolution Bars Limited, looks to impose a set of company voluntary agreements to cut costs.

Revolution employs around 2,500 workers and the expected closure of the six locations is set to put around 130 jobs at risk as we approach the Christmas period.

A final decision is expected on 13th November.
