TGt Meets... Lovett's Pie's
We've been chatting with Lovett's Pie's since their win of Best Local Pies at the Bath Good Food Awards, about all things pastry and pie.
Congratulations on your win! Tell us a little bit about your business?
Lovett Pies is a handmade pie business, we started in Bath 4 years ago. We moved to Kingswood about 2 years ago between Bristol and Bath. We always use locally sourced ingredients, suppliers and each pie is individually handmade wrapped in delicious short crust pastry.
What does winning this award mean for you and your company?
It’s very nice to be recognised as a local business and a good handmade local pie company.
How are you planning to celebrate your victory?
We did last night! But we will also be taking the boys out from the kitchen as they are part of this as well. We’ll probably go to Bristol, half of the boys live in Bristol and half in Bath.
How did you get started in the food industry?
I started in London as a chef and moved to Bath 10 years ago. I’ve worked at the Hole in the Wall and Chequers where I met my business partner Chris. We wanted to start something new so opened Lovett’s.
Business is clearly booming, why do you think so many people visit Bath?
It’s a beautiful city, a great place to visit and live with lots of different things going on daily.
Bath is foodie heaven…where else in Bath do you like to eat?
I really like Allium, and Madrid, we went there the other day and the tapas is excellent!
