SING GIN - IS THIS THE GIN OF SUMMER 2021?

With the great British summer well underway and socialising now firmly back on the agenda, what better way to relax and unwind with friends and family than by sipping a refreshing cocktail made with gin crafted from grapes and infused with the finest natural botanicals?

Sing Gin - an independent, family run distillery based in the Yorkshire Dales - produce premium, small batch gin. Almost all gin is made from grain but Sing is the first ever grape-based gin in Yorkshire.

In celebration of all things summer, the Sing Gin tasting team have crafted some delicate, fruity cocktails to say “cheers” to spending time together again and to celebrate key fruits of the season. As well as their signature ‘Sing & Tonic’, the team has created a Cherry Sing Smash, Floradora and Elderflower Collins. Sing’s new summer serves are the ideal aperitif or delicious refreshment at a garden party or barbecue.

Co-owner and chief ginthusiast, Richard Thompson, says: “These cocktails are the perfect blend of Sing Gin, delicate fruits and herbs; a selection of perfect summer drinks that suit everyone’s tastes. The Floradora is probably the least well-known on the list, despite it being a classic gin cocktail. The mix of gin and sweet raspberry syrup is perfectly balanced with a splash of ginger ale. It is sure to be a hit with those who try it.”

Crafted from the grape for a silky smooth finish, the beautiful botanicals harmonise to give distinct floral undertones and a rare, tantalising finish. The seven natural botanicals, include juniper, mint, orange peel and flax. Flax is a historical Yorkshire crop that the Thompson family grow themselves. Crushed by hand using a large mortar and pestle, only the essential oils are extracted to create the signature subtle sweet, citrusy flavour and floral nuances of Sing Gin. The botanicals are left overnight to steep in a steel and copper still called Bella, named after the family’s first dog.

Cocktails are synonymous with summertime. Filled with the season’s freshest ingredients, they are the perfect way to cool down on a warm day and are a celebration in a glass. Sing’s summer serves are easy to make and packed full of flavour. Whether you prefer stone fruits, or you like punchy, citrusy blends, this cocktail collection ticks all the boxes.

Richard adds: “Our dad launched the Sing Gin brand so we could craft gin just the way we like it. Now we’re really excited for everyone to try our special summer serves and get a flavour for our beautiful home county of Yorkshire.”

Sing Gin is available from www.singgin.com priced £38.50 per 70cl bottle.
