5 Excellent Reasons to Visit Komedia this Summer

Such is the brilliant offering from the upcoming season at Komedia, we got stuck trying to narrow down our not-to-be-missed picks to share with you. But narrow it down we have finally done, and we present the #totalguidetoBath summer guide to Komedia.

The Komedia Edinburgh Preview Series throughout July is always littered with the names of the ‘ones to watch’, that you probably have already recognised from the comedy circuit or TV. Komedia continues is excellent ability to attract these rising stars to Bath and all credit to them because they are in high demand. Save on travel and see them first! And make sure you grab tickets for John Hastings, Lucy Porter, returnees to Bath and our super-hot picks..

All the family is catered for at Komedia, their café by day is very child friendly and their programme continues to serve up plenty of engaging, fun and educational activities. Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave troupe are back in September with their popular music event where Dad dancing is very much encouraged! Local heroes the Super Pirates have several dates fixed this summer to entertain and exhaust your kids (whilst you grab a coffee and catch your breath!) and Andy and The Odd Socks (CBBC’s Andy Day) brings his award-winning anti-bullying music and drama to the stage later this month.

Dig a bit deeper and the team at Komedia have curated a collection of the most wildly creative evenings. The Ocean Film Festival World Tour has a collection of the ‘worlds most captivating ocean films’ and next big thing Apparat performs as part of The Bath Festival and as part of his UK festival tour. Komedia support many charities throughout the year and the May Charity Night of Music in support of MIND is both a celebration of music and spoken word (do good, feel good), West Country gypsy jazz favs Mad Dog McRea have a re-scheduled date for late June.

80’s star and Spandau Ballet heart throb Martin Kemp brings his decks for a DJ Set in July, more 80’s music legends hit the stage in June with The Damned plus Special Guests. BoyzLife, Dr Phi Hammond, Milton Jones and Giles Brandreth (now both sold out) are also on the billing and worthy of note.

Komedia, this summer has a lot to offer, you see our dilemma! What will you see and hear?!
