Emma Hope, the director of the much loved Emma Hope range of shoes and bags, was joined for the lively festival debate by the witty Mary Killen, from the Spectator, and fellow designer Deborah Baker of Fiorentini-Baker.
Labelling Glastonbury as a “grown up fancy dress party, where anything goes”, the terrific threesome gave us their low-down on what to wear and pack when undertaking the adventure that is Glastonbury.
The top tip of the debate was the importance of utilising your essentials and making them multifunctional. Mary Killen gave us a live demonstration of how to make the most out of your ‘pac a mac’ by using the bag as a hat, whilst Deborah Baker gave us a top storage tip – using your slouch boots as a ‘mini bar’.
Emma Hope lead the discussion brilliantly, making sure to focus on all aspects of festival living - from the importance of footwear, venturing into other sections, and of course how to keep clean.
Mary Killen's top piece to pack was awarded to her eye mask - as the lights are always on at Glastonbury, and Deborah Baker explained how nail polish is great for hiding those dirty finger nails.
The event was highly amusing, and the comic trio had the audience in fits of giggles. With a surprise appearance from Michael Eavis launching the 2014 Glastonbury T-shirt, Festival Fashion was one of our highlights of the week.
