Bath Lights the Night returns to illuminate the city

Bath’s festive celebration, Bath Lights the Night, is back for a second year on Saturday, 23rd November.

Organised by the Bath Business Improvement District (BID) in collaboration with Bath Carnival, the event will light up the city just ahead of the Christmas Market.

The evening features a parade, a starry light projection on Bath Abbey, and a concert inside the historic Abbey. 

This year’s theme, “Under the Same Stars,” celebrates unity and community spirit.

Families and children are encouraged to join in by creating their own lanterns. The parade will showcase giant lanterns shaped like endangered animals, crafted in workshops led by Bath Carnival with children and people with additional needs. Performers in illuminated costumes and samba music from Jamma de Samba will bring extra energy to the procession.

Bath Abbey’s west face will sparkle with a starry light projection, and inside, visitors can enjoy a concert by local musicians. The Abbey will also display the Light of Stars art installation - over 100 handmade paper stars arranged to highlight community and togetherness.

Comedian Jarred Christmas will host the event, adding a festive touch to the celebrations.
