Confirmations from the Royal Danish Air Force
Their weekly aircraft participation updates for RIAT 2020 begin on Thursday 6th of February. They have listened to your feedback and their Air Operations Department have kindly agreed to give you some behind the scene snippets of information to accompany the weekly confirmations to add to your excitement as they plan the world's greatest airshow.
Their first aircraft confirmations today come from the Royal Danish Air Force, who are always great supporters of the event. Firstly, they will be sending one of the CL-604 Challenger aircraft for static display as part of their Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance theme. The aircraft is used for a variety of tasks, including maritime patrol, and supported the RAF Red Arrows on their transatlantic flight to the USA last year.
Secondly, performing in the Air Tattoo flying programme for the first time in many years will be a Danish F-16AM Fighting Falcon from the Royal Danish Air Force. The display is flown by the Fighter Wing, based at Skrydstrup, and the intention is to use their stunningly painted jet in 'Dannebrog' livery (which was on static display at RIAT 2019).
Since their Embassy Visit programme last year, the Air Operations department have entered into positive discussions with a number of nations who hope to support RIAT 2020 with aircraft. Many of the aircraft on their "wish list" are focused on the two key show themes and they hope to bring you more details in the coming weeks and months as plans progress.
