Countdown Begins for Christmas at Westonbirt
With only days to go, excitement is building as Christmas at Westonbirt prepares to launch its brand-new festive light trail from 29th November to 31st December.
This year, Westonbirt Arboretum will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland with a dazzling display of new illuminated artworks, guaranteed to add sparkle and wonder to the holiday season.
Designed by Culture Creative and produced in partnership with Sony Music and Forestry England, this after-dark trail will captivate visitors of all ages as they explore the enchanting beauty of the arboretum lit up in spectacular fashion.
Among the exciting artistic installations debuting this year is Ros’O by TILT. Standing up to seven metres tall, these elegant reeds in assorted colours bring a touch of glamour to the forest.
Inspired by the natural world, TILT, a renowned French artistic studio, has created these dreamlike sculptures that evoke the beauty of wild plants by waterways.
Another must-see is Willow Hives by LuminARTi, organic structures that combine art, technology, and nature, brought to life by the magic of light.
Also joining the trail is the breathtaking Cranes by Studio Vertigo, a luminous interpretation of origami cranes, crafted from recycled polypropylene and glowing from within.
The extraordinary new works will feature alongside a host of illuminated displays, including colourful neon trees, glowing stars, a sparkling tunnel of light, and vibrant woodland filled with every colour of the rainbow.
With over a million twinkling lights, Westonbirt will become a winter wonderland unlike any other. Whether you're exploring the arboretum’s natural beauty or marvelling at the new installations, this festive trail is a must-visit.
Visitors might even catch a magical glimpse of Father Christmas as they wander through the illuminated displays.
