Bath’s fashion, spa, and retail credentials have long had some serious show-stopping heritage. Expect red carpet moments at Bath in Fashion 2016, with a line-up of stellar designers and global fashion experts. A curated programme of “in conversation” talks gives you the chance to meet industry experts, fashion designers and editors in an inspiring and engaging programming that put spring/summer 16 fashion centre stage.
Headliners include designers Erdem talking to Tim Blanks, Nicholas Oakwell, Julien MacDonald and Zandra Rhodes as well as Belinda Earl, the Style Director of M&S and Livia Firth who challenges the sustainability of the fashion industry . Topics range from high street to haute couture, the sartorial style of Cecil Beaton and Sir Roy Strong to the influence of Valentino and Versace.
The theme of pattern has been reflected in a series of talks curated by Bath Spa University and colour comes to the city with a yarn bomb, graffiti with wool, in aid of the RUH Cancer Care Appeal. Catwalks are staged in the Assembly Rooms under the glittering Eighteenth Century chandeliers, also home to Bath’s Fashion Museum housing one of Europe’s finest collections of contemporary and historic fashion with their new exhibition “A History of Fashion in 100 Objects” .
Bath has a very unique retail offer with its independent boutiques and strong fashion brands. New for 2016, Bath in Fashion LIVE is an excuse to get out and shop with non-stop action across the city - the perfect opportunity to discover your style for the new season. Whether it's shopping for your new season’s wardrobe or experiencing the atmosphere and drama of the catwalk or a VIP experience like no other – Bath in Fashion brings the glamour of World’s Great Fashion Weeks to a city where fashionistas have gathered for the past 200 years.
