Jewellery Retailer Hosts Fabulous Fundraising Event for Breast Cancer Campaign

Designer jewellery retailer, Fabulous and its Bath team took part in its ?Fabulous 50k? charity walk on Friday 16th May, in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

Inspired by their launch of positive-energy jewellery brand Alex and Ani in January, a year of positive change was born and so was the idea for a 50km walk to help raise money for their chosen charity, Breast Cancer Campaign.

Wanting to set a big goal of £2000 in sponsorship, and work on their personal fitness, Fabulous Owner Jo Stroud, Bath Store Manager Becky Johnson and the senior management team settled on a 30 mile (50km) walk around Bath.

Their walk started at 8.30am at the Southgate Fabulous store, and down the river and along the River Avon Trial – all the way to Bristol (15 miles). The team then retraced their steps to finish back at Southgate after 11 hours of walking.

Jo Stroud, Fabulous Owner said, “All our hard work and training has paid off and we’re all delighted to have almost reached our target of 2k for a charity so close to all our hearts. Most of our customers and staff are women, and some of us will be at risk of developing breast cancer at some point in our lives. In fact, some of our customers are breast cancer survivors, as we know from carrying out various fund-raising activities over the years. If we can make even a small difference to on-going research into prevention and cure, then our walk will be very worthwhile.”

This is the first of two sponsored walks within a week. The second will take place on the 23rd May between Leamington and Solihull and will include the local teams.
