The Colerne Military Wives who formed last summer will be performing at Bath Racecourse’s Ladies’ Day on Saturday 31 August.
In their first year The Colerne Military Wives have sung at Mess Balls, Homecoming Parades and held joint concerts with our local operatic society and school. Their repertoire includes popular pieces interspersed with some lesser-known ones, with something for everyone.
Many of the Military Wives are preparing for the heart-wrench of saying farewell to their husbands as they prepare for tours in Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands this autumn.
Helen Stowell, Events Co-ordinator for The Colerne Military Wives said: “When times are tough, singing together really does help to put the smile back on our faces, and having done it ourselves, is something that we’d heartily recommend to all. “
She continued: “We were delighted when Bath Racecourse asked us to sing at Ladies’ Day and we’re very much looking forward to being part of the day. We hope to encourage more women who are married or engaged to someone in the forces to join us following on from our appearances on the day.”
