The Roman Baths to Open Late for an Evening of Live Music

The Roman Baths will stay open late on Friday 18 May for an evening of live music around the Great Bath. As the dusk settles, the historic venue will be illuminated by burning torches, and visitors will be able to buy drinks from a pop-up bar.

There will be live music throughout the evening, including local favourites the Bath Spa Band; internationally acclaimed early music artist Michael Levy, who recreates ancient lyre playing techniques; and Waytes and Measures, a four-piece band specialising in Medieval and early Tudor music and song.
 
The Roman Baths museum will also remain open late for those who want to explore.
 
Councillor Paul Myers, (Conservative, Midsomer Norton Redfield), cabinet member for Economic and Community Regeneration, said: “This special evening is free for residents with a Discovery Card, and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music and a drink beside the torch-lit Great Bath.”
 
The event is part of Bath Festivals' Party in the City and also the national Museums at Night campaign.
 
Included in the normal admission price for the Roman Baths. Tickets are not available online but can be bought at the front desk on arrival. Free to Bath and North East Somerset residents with a Discovery Card.
