The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa Launch Innovative New Cocktail Menu

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has launched an exciting new cocktail menu at The Montagu Bar & Champagne Lounge.

Expertly created by newly appointed Head Barman Orlando Santana Garcia, the menu welcomes an inventive range of refined beverages. 

Orlando returns to the hotel after five years, bringing a wealth of creativity, flair and experience along with him.

He was winner of the Grand Marnier Cocktail competition, and has secured the UK Bartenders’ Guild’s prized Cocktail Bartender of the Year and Cocktail Champion awards. 

Traditional yet trendy favourites such as the Singapore Sling, Tom Collins, and Negroni feature alongside glamorous creations such as the Raspberry Lash (vodka, Chambord, fresh raspberries and Champagne Taittinger) and Mermaid’s Kiss (Midori, Amaretto and Champagne Taittinger).

The new menu includes masterfully concocted signature cocktail ‘Queen of the Blues’, which pays homage to former Royal Crescent regular Elizabeth Montagu. A famous social reformer of her time, Elizabeth Montagu created the informal woman’s social and educational movement The Blue Stockings Society and held many meetings at the hotel in the 1750’s. Literary great Samuel Johnson is said to have given her the nickname ‘Queen of the Blues’.

This imaginative cocktail is made with tequila, shaken with elderflower cordial, Blue Curacao and fresh limejuice and topped with Champagne Taittinger (The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa’s official champagne partner).
