Wicked Master Class for Bath Theatre Students

Students from Bath Theatre School were fortunate enough to attend a Master Class with a professional West End.

Jennifer Tierney, whose theatre credits include the understudy for Elphaba in ‘Wicked’, and international productions of ‘Mamma Mia’, and ‘Chess’ taught the children a routine for one of Wicked’s well known songs, ‘One Short Day’.

During the master class Jennifer coached students about vocal, dance and acting technique and held a question and answer session so that children could find out more about ‘Wicked’ and Jennifer’s knowledge of the world of performing.

Bath Theatre School’s Principal, Tom Bright, said “We were thrilled Jennifer was able to come and share her wealth of experience from the theatre and music industry with our students.

Days such as this are a corner stone to our syllabus, offering all our children unique, educational and memorable experiences, which incentivise their passion and interest in musical theatre, whilst also representing a reward for all their hard work during the academic year”.

Master classes are just one of the many opportunities available to Bath Theatre School students, which prides its self in offering the most comprehensive and unique Musical Theatre experience for children aged 7-16 in Bath and surrounding areas.

Bath Theatre School are particularly unique by offering all children the opportunity to take Trinity examinations in Musical Theatre. These nationally recognised qualifications not only build a foundation for a career in the performing, but the syllabus is purposely designed to nurture and develop key life skills which are relevant to all children, in areas such as team work, communication, public speaking and co-ordination.

Bath Theatre School will very shortly be starting rehearsals for their professionally staged musical, ‘Guys & Dolls’, which is packed full of top tapping Broadway classics. The production will give students the chance to wear costumes, use makeup and perform in a 400 seat theatre to family, friends and the general public. Plus there is still time to get involved with this great opportunity.
