Glorious Gardens at Beckford's Tower
Make your own shoe box garden with Beckford's Tower on 30th October.
Come and spend some time in nature and create your own garden inspired by the grounds at Beckford’s Tower.
William Beckford lived at Lansdown Crescent and rode his horse up to his Tower Garden every day. Along the way he saw different aspects of garden he could enjoy, such as a kitchen garden and a quarry garden. What will your garden design look like?
As part of B&NES Museum's Week, this is a FREE Workshop with a trip to Beckford's Tower Museum after.
Things you need to know:
The workshop will be taking place outside in the Paddocks. Please meet the Beckford's Tower staff there. The Paddocks can be found on the other side of Lansdown Cemetery near our Grotto (further away from Beckford's Tower). Please be aware the ground is uneven.
Please wear outdoor clothes and shoes. It does get windy!
There is a small car at the Grotto end (Please turn left before the traffic lights by Hamilton House Flats, opposite Granville Road. This is a small lane and will take you to the car park and paddocks). This has limited parking. You can also park in the laybys on Lansdown Road.
The first hour 10:30 am - 11:30 am will be outside creating the gardens (if it is too wet, we will be inside).
The second hour 11:30 am - 12:30 pm gives you admission for FREE to Beckford's Tower Museum as part of B&NES Museum's Week.
Adults do need to accompany children and stay with them.
