BATH BID CELEBRATES THE CITY WITH SUMMER SUNDAYS

The Bath Business Improvement District (Bath BID) will be celebrating the reopening of the city with Summer Sundays, a programme of entertainment, events and activities for all the family.

Every Sunday in June, July and August, visitors to the city centre will be able to soak up the festive atmosphere with free entertainment and activities, alongside the return of many of Bath’s greatly missed festivals and events, and the city’s recently reopened restaurants, cafés, and bars. Summer Sundays will offer a great opportunity for people to spend time in the city centre, whether they live in Bath or come from further afield.

Throughout the campaign period, there will be a variety of pop-up performances, from Jane Austen dancers to Jamma de Samba. On some Sundays, there will be a balloon artist out and about in the city centre, and on other dates, there will be free face painting. The Bath BID will also be holding free family-friendly arts and crafts workshops at 15 Cheap Street on some Summer Sundays. Visitors can find a full schedule of the events and activities taking place each Sunday on the Welcome to Bath website, as well as practical information to help plan their visit.

Alongside the Bath BID’s free entertainment and activities, visitors can enjoy the array of festivals and events that will be taking place across the city on Summer Sundays. This year’s Bath Fringe Festival takes place from 28th May to 13th June, with SparkFest running until 19th June. Foodies will love Pub in the Park, from 18th to 20th June, and the Fantastic Food Festival, which will be in the city from 16th to 18th July. The Bath Festival Finale Weekend will be returning to Bath Recreation Ground on 7th and 8th August, offering a festival atmosphere for all the family.

The Bath BID’s Summer Sundays activity was inspired by Bath and North East Somerset Council’s own Summer Sunday events in Parade Gardens, with children’s entertainment, food, drink and live music on the last Sunday of every month. Local visitors can bring their Discovery Card or proof of residence to join in these events for free.

The highlight for June will be on Sunday 27th June, when the Bath BID will be holding Welcome Back to Bath Day, with activity across the city centre to celebrate its reopening. The Bath BID Welcome Ambassadors will be ready to welcome people into the city centre, handing out maps and answering questions. There will be pop-up performances around the city centre, and on-street entertainment courtesy of Bath Fringe Festival as part of their Bedlam Fair. Visitors will also be able to enjoy Bath and North East Somerset Council’s first Summer Sunday event of the year at Parade Gardens.
