Bath, Boffins and Brexit

Two of generations debate of the fate of the UK.

With the UK on the brink of the greatest political decision for a generation, some of Bath‘s finest young minds are to join forces with an older generation of Oxford graduates for a lively and informative debate about whether we should leave the European Union.

The event at The Royal High School, Bath, will feature both Year 12 Royal High School students and adult speakers from the Bristol and Bath branch of the Oxford University Alumni Network (OUSoc) speaking for and against Brexit.

Speaking for Brexit is Dr Christophe Fricker, a Managing Partner at Nimirum. He believes the UK is a force for good in the EU, and its citizens benefit from the opportunities created by the European project. Arguing to leave the EU is Dean Robson, a solicitor at Clarke Willmott, specialising in property litigation. He reasons that whilst the EU benefits from having the UK as a member, the UK would benefit from leaving the EU

Proceedings will be chaired by communication coach and former BBC journalist Tony Coll.

The event is at The Royal High School Bath, Lansdown Road, Bath BA1 5SZ, on Wednesday 8th June 2016 from 6.30pm for networking, for a 7.15pm start.

It is open to the public, with tickets at £9.00 for OUSoc Bristol & Bath members; £12 for Non-Members (to include refreshments)
