BATH HALF ON TRACK FOR EARLY SELL OUT

General entries to the 2019 Bath Half Marathon are set to sell out even earlier than in previous years, as entries to the 2019 race are now two thirds sold.

Last year, the race sold out by the end of October however, the Race Director has seen a big uplift in sales over the last couple of weeks and is anticipating general entries to the race will likely be sold out within the next two to three weeks.

Bath Half Race Director Andrew Taylor comments; “Although we delayed opening entries this year, whilst we processed entrants’ refunds after the cancellation, the rate of sales has been quicker than previous years. We have also seen a significant increase in charity sales again this year, which reduces the number of general places available. After the summer holidays and with the autumn season of road races now in full swing, our remaining general entry places are now selling very fast.

“For those willing to raise fundraise for charity there are still reserved charity spaces available. Our lead charity this year is British Heart Foundation and we have 130 other official race charities including many Bath-based local charities with places that you can find out about on our website. But don’t delay as many of those charities are also reporting high demand for their places this year.”

The race, which is well known for its huge crowds and community support at the Bath Half, is a fast, flat, two lap course ideal for both elite runners and those targeting personal best times, which is making the race increasingly popular with runners.

Andrew Taylor continues; “Each year we conduct a post-race runners survey and both the atmosphere and fantastic local crowd support are mentioned as key reasons why runners will recommend to friends or family to run the race. We do have a lot of first timers but we have a higher number of repeat runners who are looking for PB times, which on a fast flat course like ours is really achievable. Add this to the fact that our race is uniquely set in a beautiful City may also help explain why we are selling out earlier and earlier each year.”

The Bath Half Marathon 2019 takes place on Sunday 17th March. To register for a general entry or to run for a charity please visit www.bathhalf.co.uk.
