Bath Rugby Foundation 10th Anniversary Ultimate Row and Ride Challenges
The Bath Rugby Foundation is set to celebrate its 10th Anniversary with two high profile fundraising challenges in June, the biggest in the Foundation's history.
Former England and Bath Rugby players, Lewis Moody, Danny Grewcock, David Flatman and Andy Beattie, will join local cyclists, in the Ultimate Cycle Challenge from John O'Groats to Land's End.
Simultaneously, a group of novice local rowers, alongside World Champion Falmouth rower Natalie Grose, are preparing to take on the Ultimate Row Challenge, to row in Cornish Gigs from The Scilly Isles to Land's End.
Both groups are raising much needed funds for The Bath Rugby Foundation.
Ultimate Bike Challenge:
Saturday 8th to Sunday 16th June
The bike team (detailed above), which also includes Bath Rugby President David Trick and Bath Rugby CEO Nick Blofeld, will cycle in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain from John O'Groats to Land's End, covering a distance of 954 miles in nine days. The group will be joined by an additional 32 cyclists, who will cycle from Wincanton to Land's End, over two days, covering approximately 226 miles. They will be further supported by 10 local cyclists, who will spend a day cycling with the group from Ludlow to Wincanton, covering a distance of over 100 miles - bringing the total number of local cyclists raising money for the Bath Rugby Foundation to an impressive 82.

Ultimate Row Challenge:
Saturday 15th June
Alongside World Champion rower Natalie Grose and endurance rower, Shelley Cook, the team of local novice rowers – which include local businessmen Paul Jevons from EE, David Elliot from Wessex Water and Dr. Stewart Redman from the RUH - will attempt to row in Cornish Gigs from the Scilly Isles to Land's End. This difficult challenge, sponsored by Blackberry Z10 handset, will cover 28 miles of notoriously difficult water, taking approximately seven hours.
