Can you take the heat? Jessie May hosts charity firewalk this Bonfire Night
Bristol-based Jessie May is inviting supporters to walk on fire this Bonfire Night to help raise money for their children’s hospice at home charity.
The charity is encouraging individuals to take on the fiery challenge this November to help fund their nurses who support local terminally ill children and their families.
Supporters are invited to take part in the firewalk on November 5th at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, who will be hosting their annual fireworks display and funfair.
Jessie May Community Fundraiser Helen Mackie said: “It’s safe to say we are all fired up for this exhilarating fundraising challenge! This is without a doubt the shortest sponsored walk Jessie May will offer – and also the hottest!
“Bonfire Night brings the whole family together, and this year we want to make it even more exciting, and really turn up the heat. Those taking part in the firewalk will have two hours of training before taking on the coals, which will be led by Blaze Firewalking, the charity firewalking experts.
“It costs £10 to register for the firewalk, and we ask that firewalkers raise a minimum of £100 for taking on the challenge in support of Jessie May. Then on the night, the fun begins!
“So if you think you can take the heat – register today and conquer the flames this Fireworks Night! All firewalkers will have free entry to the event at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, so you can enjoy a magnificent firework display, funfair rides, a brand new sparkler area and much more after you’ve walked on fire.
“Register your place today – give me a ring on 0117 958 2174, or drop me an email on helen.mackie@jessiemay,org.uk.”
Doug Douglas, Managing Director for Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, said: "We are pleased to host Jessie May's spectacular Firewalk at Avon Valley.
“Our visitors to the Firework Display will be able to watch those brave 'soles' taking part and cheer them on. It's a great opportunity to raise funds for this fantastic charity.”
The Jessie May Firewalk takes place on Monday 5th November at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park. Pixash Lane, Bath Road, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 1TP.
Firewalkers must arrive for 5pm on the evening ahead of the firewalk training. Gates open to the public at 5pm, with the firewalk display taking place at around 7.15pm. The minimum age for firewalkers is 14, with parental consent required for all 14 and 15 year olds.
To register for the firewalk, or for more information, contact Helen Mackie on [email protected] or 0117 958 2174.
