Claassens Donates Kit to Dursley RFC

Bath Rugby's Michael Claassens has gifted Dursley RFC with some brand new kit.

Last October, Michael was awarded the Amlin Challenge Cup Man of the Match award by the French media following his commanding performance in the 25-27 away win against SU Agen.

As part of his award, tournament sponsors Amlin donated a large package of training kit and equipment for Michael to donate to a rugby youth club of his choosing.

Referred to as MOTM+, the pack contains items various items that can be used in training sessions by Dursley, including training balls, evasion belts, speed ladders and resistors, and the Gloucestershire based club were delighted with the donation.

“We’re really thankful to Michael, Bath Rugby and Amlin, for giving us this wonderful box of kit – it’s top of the range equipment, and as a self-funded club it can sometimes be hard to find the money to replace the bits and pieces that get worn out throughout the season” commented Alan Evans of Dursley. “Now we know we have a set of quality equipment that will keep us going for a good while.”

Michael added: “All professional players started at grassroots clubs such as Dursley, and you know how hard it can be to get equipment of the quality you need to be able to train as well as you’d like, so it’s great to be able to give something back.”
