Clifton Down Shopping Centre announces Jessie May as their nominated charity

Clifton Down Shopping Centre recently launched an appeal to nominate their ‘Charity for 2018/19’ and are delighted to announce that Bristol-based Jessie May, the children’s hospice at home charity, are the chosen partner.

Jessie May Nurses provide vital respite care, emotional support, end of life care, and bereavement support to families alongside family events.

The charity currently supports 185 children and families across Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, North East Somerset, and Wiltshire, 70 of which are in the locality of Bristol.

The management and tenants of Clifton Down are very active in supporting their nominated charity partners and are already starting to work with representatives of Jessie May on their programme of activity for events, challenges and fundraising opportunities during the coming year. The plans will be unveiled shortly by both parties.

On announcing the partnership with Jessie May, Charlotte Jarrett, Centre Manager of Clifton Down commented: “We are very excited to have selected such a positive, energetic and deserving charity in Jessie May and look forward to providing a platform for them to host events and access to our wide and varied footfall over the next year.

“We will be setting targets with them shortly, both monetary and for challenges to engage our staff and tenants.”

Jessie May CEO Chris Roys said: “We are thrilled Clifton Down Shopping Centre has chosen Jessie May as its new charity partner. We’re so grateful for this support, especially from an organisation so local to the charity.

“Nearly 40% of the children and families we are currently caring for live in the Bristol area so it’s extremely moving to be recognised and supported by the shopping centre. Our charity heavily relies on voluntary funding, and corporate relationships like this can really help spread the word about Jessie May and the amazing work our nurses do in the homes of life-limited children and young people.”
