Visitors of SouthGate Bath recently spotted one of the staple city centre telephone boxes painted white. After much speculation, SouthGate released a statement revealing that it is the canvas for Mr Doodle.
In preparation for Mr Doodle's upcoming exhibition at The Holburne Museum, he is taking over Bath by transforming the city centre’s iconic structures with his distinctive and whimsical art style! This includes SouthGate's Telephone Box.
The project has been organised by Cleo Newcombe-Jones, the Regeneration Manager at Bath & North East Somerset Council, and Wendy Maden, Principal Urban Designer overseeing High Streets Renewal at Bath & North East Somerset Council.
Mr Doodle will be at the telephone box on Friday, 19th April at 2 PM, and all are welcome to come and witness his artistic process. Attendance is free and it is kindly requested that visitors respect Mr Doodle's workspace. Please note that the event is subject to weather conditions.
The telephone box will keep its new Mr Doodle makeover throughout the summer, allowing ample time for viewing.
Do make sure to explore more of Mr Doodle's creations scattered across Bath, as well as within The Holburne Museum when his exhibition commences on 3rd May.
