Thermae Bath Spa is Britain’s only natural thermae spa and the mineral waters are perfect for relaxing in with friends or a loved one. Portishead Open Air Pool 

Although Portishead is around 29 miles west of Bath, it’s definitely worth the journey as it’s a fantastic afternoon out with the kids. Suitable for all ages, the whole family can enjoy a dip in the heated pool with stunning views towards the Bristol Channel. The pool is a massive 33m long so there’s plenty of space for everyone! There is also a café lido serving refreshing drinks and snacks when you’re tired of splashing around!

Cirencester Open Air Pool

Cirencester is home to one of the best (and oldest – built in 1869!) Open Air Pools around. It is conveniently located on the edge of Cirencester Park in the centre of the town and is heated to around 27°C, so it’s the perfect temperature to either keep you warm on cooler days or cool you down on hot days! There are plenty of aids and refreshments available.

Wotton Outdoor Pool

Wotton Pool, located in Cotswold town Wotton Under Edge, is a fantastic Outdoor Pool. It has a transparent cover over the top to give the pool a bit more shelter from the sun on scorching hot days! The pool is heated to 29°C so you’re not likely to catch a chill! Wotton Pool is a smaller one at 18m long and the depth ranges from 1m – just over 2m, so it’s a great place for adults and older children to enjoy a spot of swimming.

Cleveland Pools

This outdoor pool, in Bath, is set to reopen to the public for swimming from Sunday, September 10th, 2023, following an extensive restoration that has brought new life to this beloved Grade II listed Goergian lido. For its opening, with Heritage Open Days, visitors can swim for free on 10th September, ticket sales begin on 2nd September. Water temperatures can reach 28 degrees in the summer and 5 degrees for cold water swimming in autumn/winter.
