Review: Gemelli's Beauty

We sent the lovely blogger Megan McMinn of The Briar Rose blog along to Gemelli's Beauty for some much needed pampering, here's how she got on...

Until recently, I was one of those people who'd never invested in a massage. For the past couple of years I've suffered for twinges in my back, and although my husband encouraged me to treat myself to a massage I was sceptical about whether it would really help, and if I'd enjoy the experience full stop.

Then I visited Gemelli's Beauty for a back massage. Tucked away on a quiet corner of Milsom Street, I discovered Gemelli's inside Claire Brown's hairdressers. The treatment room was serene and quaint, with decor that would typically lend itself better towards a cosy tearoom than a salon! Despite my prior scepticism, it was hard to not relax with the welcoming atmosphere that Gemini had created. Every preconception I'd had melted away, allowing me to simply enjoy the experience and reap its benefits.

The treatment was perfectly relaxing, and it didn't take me nearly as long as I'd feared to ease into it. Gemini was laid back yet incredibly knowledgeable; talking through the issues I'd been having with my back and tackling my problem areas during the treatment. I'd had no idea what to expect from my first massage, however my most optimistic expectations were well surpassed. I left the salon with a spring in my step and a weight lifted from my shoulders. The physical relief was a Godsend, but I was also delighted by how peaceful and at ease I felt emotionally. It's taking care of your mind and body at its very best.

After following Gemini's advice for aftercare, the pain I'd been having in my back all but disappeared. I could still feel the benefits weeks later, and I'm certain I'll be returning in the future. I'm absolutely a massage convert, and I'd sing their praises to anyone else considering indulging in their first treatment. She also does threading, eye treatments, waxing and nails, and with the party season approaching I can't think of a better way to treat myself! Any excuse to enjoy the beautiful treatment room - and be pampered again. Whether you're looking for a cosmetic, physical or emotional lift, I can't recommend Gemelli's Beauty enough.
