Roman Baths has been crowned as the most accessible cultural attraction in Bath for visitors who suffer from hearing impairment. With 1 in 6 of the UK’s adult population affected with hearing loss, ensuring that cultural attractions are accessible to the hearing impaired is vital.

As part of the Most Accessible Attractions Report, the experts at ReSound researched 40 of the most visited attractions in the UK, and analysed how many accommodating features were available for the hearing-impaired, as well as TripAdvisor scores.

Roman Baths

Not only was Roman Baths ranked the most accessible attraction in Bath for the hearing impaired, but the historic site was even named as the second most accessible cultural attraction in the entire UK, being beaten only by the British Museum in London.

Theatre Royal 

A second Bath cultural attraction also made the list, with Theatre Royal receiving a total score of 38 out of 80 for accessibility. The Grade II listed building was built in 1805 and has a capacity of around 900. The theatre can provide visitors with an induction loop, events for the hearing impaired, and also provides sign language capabilities.
