Romantic things to do in Bath this Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines, February is upon us and its traditionally the most romantic time of the year, so it seems timely that we list our most romantic things to see and places to go here in Bath, a city often voted ‘Most Romantic City in the UK’.

Don’t worry, there is something to suit every budget although we recommend being romantic all year through. So here are some ideas that will keep the romance alive whatever the season. 

Once the weather warms up, go messing about on the river with Bath Boating. Choose a row-boat, a punt or for more of a workout try a canoe or kayak. 

2. Twilight Spa

If you’ve not yet tried the Thermae Bath Spa’s Twilight Spa Package then what are you waiting for?!! Grab your significant other and a fluffy robe and head for the famous rooftop pool at dusk. The package includes a drink and a meal too. Why not add a massage for a bells and whistles premium visit.

3. Torchlit Roman Bath

Did you now that during the summer months you can visit the Roman Baths after dark and experience the magic of the ancient Baths under torchlight? Sounds magical! Watch for this year’s dates as they are sure to get booked up. Highly recommended experience.

4. Dinner at The Ivy

One for the girls? If you’re after the perfect Galentine’s event, then get booking at the fashionable The Ivy on Milsom Street. With plush interiors and a delicious menu, including afternoon tea, this celebrity hang-out is the perfect place to gather the girls. Just add prosecco!

5. Massage at The Royal Crescent Spa

If you’d prefer to self-gift at Valentine's, or at any other time of course, then why not try a luxury massage at the incredible Spa faculties within the Royal Crescent Hotel, in their Spa & Bath House. We can’t rate the beautiful facilities at this world-famous hotel enough. If the weather allows then take a picnic blanket to the private Parade Gardens (Bath Discovery Card owners get in for free!) and watch the ducks on the Pulteney Weir or if you’re lucky there will be musicians to serenade you on the bandstand. 

7. Walk the Bath Skyline

Active couples will enjoy the six-mile romp around this sign-posted National Trust walk that will take in the picturesque sights of Bath. Walking boots advised, but plenty of kissing gates too….

8. Little Theatre 

Take your sweetheart to see a classic movie at this cute family-run old theatre. They even have ice cream at half time, like in the old days!!! Choose that film wisely from their curated listing; something for every couple.

9. Drinks at The Art Bar, Abbey Hotel

Need to impress your beau? Take him or her to The Art Bar in the Abbey Hotel and impress them with your art knowledge. It’ll certainly mean there are no awkward silences as the art covered walls will give you lots of talk about.

10. Friday at The Rec, Bath Rugby

Cosy up on a Friday evening at Bath Rugby, widely renowned as the prettiest rugby setting in the UK. The pre and post-match entertainment make for a great evening and a brilliant way to kick start a weekend or even a relationship.
