The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa Launches Special Coronation Celebrations

The landmark 5* Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath is launching its Coronation Afternoon Tea, in collaboration with renowned British perfume house, Penhaligon's. The afternoon tea is inspired by Penhaligon's vibrant Highgrove Bouquet scent and will launch on May 1st until May 31st to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Coronation Garden Party

On Friday 5th May, the hotel is hosting a Coronation Garden Party to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty in the gardens of The Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa, accompanied by a jazz band, lawn games, and a spot of afternoon tea. Guests at the Garden Party will also experience an exclusive scent profiling from Penhaligon's and the team from Gusbourne's will be treating guests to a journey through their award-winning wines. Guests will also receive a Penhaligon's gift bag to take home, including scented gifts and a signature printed scarf.

The Coronation Garden Party will take place on 5th May 2023. Tickets cost £95 per person, or £30 for children under 12. Ticket price includes entrance to the garden party, afternoon tea, cocktail (or non-alcoholic alternative), scent profiling and wine tasting experiences and gift bag (adults only).

Coronation Afternoon Tea

The Coronation Afternoon Tea, served at the Garden Party and throughout May, is inspired by Penhaligon’s newest fragrance, Highgrove Bouquet, a scent created with and inspired by Highgrove Gardens, the home of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Consort. It is a tribute to the magnificently fragrant summers at Highgrove Gardens, that hum with a smell often described as earthly sunshine. The Coronation Afternoon Tea at The Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa includes a selection of delicious pastries and cakes, each delicately flavoured with inspiration from the uplifting, floral notes of this royal fragrance, including lavender, mimosa and tuberose.

The afternoon tea will be served at Montagu's Mews from 1st - 31st May, the hotel's newly renovated restaurant - a modern, classic and effortlessly elegant destination set in a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere that celebrates the heritage and iconic status of the luxury hotel. Guests can overlook the green and pleasant gardens whilst enjoying their afternoon tea, as well as having the option to eat outside on the newly renovated, picturesque and peaceful outdoor terrace.

Every afternoon tea guest will receive a bespoke Penhaligon's printed scarf and an invitation to a scent profiling experience at a Penhaligon's store. Guests can also add to the experience with a chilled glass of Highgrove Bouquet Summer Cocktail - developed to reflect the crisp, floral notes of the Eau de Parfum and featuring the refreshing fizz of Gusbourne sparkling English wine.

The Coronation Afternoon Tea, including a dedicated Children’s Afternoon Tea, will be served daily throughout May 2023 between 1pm and 4pm in Montagu's Mews, or in the hotel's glorious garden. The Coronation Afternoon Tea is £42 per person.

Coronation Hotel Package

The hotel is also inviting guests to celebrate the Coronation with a special one night stay package in collaboration with Penhaligon’s Perfumes and Gusbourne Wines.

Guests will indulge in the Coronation Afternoon Tea, with a chilled glass of the exclusive Highgrove Bouquet Summer Cocktail, as well as being gifted a bottle of the special Highgrove Bouquet parfum (100ml) to take home with them.

Guests will also experience a 5-course tasting menu in the newly refurbished Montagu’s Mews restaurant and terrace, accompanied by a glass of Gusbourne’s Sparkling wine. This will be followed by an overnight stay in one of the hotel's luxurious rooms or suites and access to the relaxing Spa & Bath House.
