SECRET ISAKAYA NIGHT

The Bath Grapes are delighted to announce the first Secret Supper Club to be held in their Jacobean event space in partnership with the Izakaya crew. Ellie the owner of The Grapes Bath has wrote a fantastic blog telling you all about what you can expect at this spectacular event!

A couple of months ago, we went along to our first Isakaya Night feeling a bit knackered and unsociable to have the whole evening turned around.  The food was delightful, with each course offering a new sensation to the senses.  I had also gone there in the belief that I didn’t like Sake only to have all my expectations blown away to the point of ringing around some local hotels to see if we could stay the night in Bath, so it was with some sadness I could only take tiny sips throughout the evening when a room couldn’t be found at such short notice.

We also left having made firm friends with some of the other guests and talks of music I’m sure, will see some of them come into the bar over the next couple of months, bringing their instruments with them.  For those of you who are unsure, an izakaya ??? is a type of informal Japanese pub or casual place for after-work drinking. Often compared with tapas bars and early American saloons and taverns, this Isakaya Night will delight your taste buds through a series of courses paired with a range of Sake.
