The Two Wheel Testicle Tour Comes to Bath

A pair of novice cyclists will be stopping off in Bath as part of an incredible fundraising journey which will see them visit all 20 English Premier League football clubs in just 8 days.

Testicular cancer survivor Adam Tann, along with close friend Daniel Huggins, has embarked on the grueling challenge, aptly named The Two Wheel Testicle Tour, to help raise awareness and money for research into male cancer.  The Orchid charity will be the main beneficiary of the two lifelong friends’ amazing effort.

Whilst playing for Leyton Orient FC in 2006, professional footballer Adam was diagnosed and treated for testicular cancer.  He received some of the best treatment possible, and it was successful to the point that he was back playing competitive football just four months later. He said, "There are plenty of success stories, myself included, but unfortunately there are also plenty of tragic stories too. The amazing people out there doing this incredible work need help, support and awareness raised any way possible to beat 'that word' cancer."

Since his recovery, Adam has supported various male cancer charities in different ways, but he’s always wanted to do something mentally and physically demanding that would make people sit up and take notice.  Likewise, Dan, who’s family has also been affected by cancer, felt it was time to do something extraordinary for such a good cause.  He said, “We wanted people to think that our challenge was almost unachievable and from the response we've had since, it seems that we have achieved exactly that!”

Setting themselves the target of cycling roughly 850 miles in just over a week is no small feat, especially given that neither of them owned a proper bike until a month before the challenge!

Their journey kicked off on Sunday at Norwich City FC, the only Premier League club in their home county of Norfolk and will come to its conclusion just a week later at Northernmost club Newcastle United FC.

On Tuesday 14th May (day 3), after ticking Reading FC and Southampton FC off their list, Adam and Dan will then cycle to Bath where a comfortable overnight stop-off at the city's Apple Tree Guest House will prepare them well for the following day’s trip to Swansea City FC and Birmingham.

The Two Wheel Testicle Tour Schedule:

  • Day 1 - Sunday 12th - Setting off from Norwich City before stopping off at Cambridge United (where both played as young footballers) then heading South towards London
