Thrings back Bath Rugby Walk once again
Bath legal firm Thrings have once again given their support to the Bath Rugby Walk.
The Bath-based firm have signed up as Lead Sponsor for the 7th year.
Hundreds of walkers will line up on Saturday, 7 March, to take part in the annual fundraiser in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care and Bath Rugby Foundation.
Eight miles will be covered in between 2-3 hours along the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, starting from Dorothy House in Winsley at 11am. Walkers will finish at the Bath Recreation Ground, the home of Bath Rugby and Bath Rugby Foundation.
Once at the Rec, participants are to be treated to a screening of the day’s Six Nations action, accompanied by a free pie and a drink. Both the Ireland v Italy match (2.15pm) and the England v Wales game (4.45pm) will be screened.
Managing Partner, Simon Holdsworth, said: “The Bath Rugby Walk always attracts a great following and the well-loved charities it supports do a great job of changing the lives of so many in our community while, at the same time, getting people together to walk and talk. And, of course, there is always the end goal of a well-deserved pie and pint at the Rec.
“As long-time supporters of the Rugby Walk, we look forward to this event and once again, we will be fielding a team of walkers to join the throng.”
Bath Rugby Foundation CEO, Lynne Fernquest, said: “We are so grateful that, once again the Bath Rugby Walk has received wonderful support from Thrings.
“The Bath Rugby Walk is a vital fundraiser for two Bath charities and we hope to see hundreds of walkers line up alongside the Thrings team on March 7.”
Emily Knight, Event Fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “The Bath Rugby Walk is always a fun and popular event with a brilliant atmosphere among all the walkers. Thrings have generously supported this event in recent years and we are thrilled that they remain our lead sponsor for the 7th year running. We look forward to welcoming their team and all the other walkers at this year’s Walk. Don’t forget to sign up your team and join us for a great walk before enjoying some Six Nations excitement at The Rec.”
Last year, more than 500 people took part in the Bath Rugby Walk to support the much-needed work for the local community carried out by both charities, who split all the money raised 50/50.
