My song of the week is:
'Bridge over troubled waters' by Simon and Garfunkel.
My quote of the week is:
'A Bridge can still be built, while the bitter waters are flowing beneath' by Anthony Liccione.
Friday dawned another beautiful day and my village was absolutely festooned with bunting and Union Jacks. The Lockdown didn't prevent people celebrating VE Day and many enjoyed street parties at a social distance. There was a magnificent fly past by the Red Arrows over an eerily quiet London and in the evening the Queen delivered another rousing speech.
Another brilliant Quiz Night was held last night via Zoom and this week we came 4th out of the five teams with Ross's Mum and Dad, Veryan and James, smashing the answers to come 1st. We at least finished one better than last week so hubby and I had better try to up our game for next Sunday. It is such a lovely way to catch up with all the family together.
Last week I ordered Duncan and Fatima and Liz and Ross some personalised jigsaws. Here is a photo of the completed jigsaw I sent Liz, Ross and Flo. The puzzle was produced from a photograph I took of them on the beach in Formentor, Mallorca last June. Such happy memories. Come on Duncan and Fatima - complete yours and I can include it in next week's Blog!
Well, today hubby actually let me loose on his hair and I must say both he and I were pleased with the results. The pictures don't really do justice to my tonsorial abilities but apart from a slightly balder patch on one side I think it will pass muster!
Take care and stay safe
