In a collaborative effort between More Trees for B&NES and Curo, a prominent local housing association, 125 standalone trees found their new homes across the cityscape. Additionally, 11 new trees have been planted in Whiteway Green Park, each commemorating the remarkable recipients of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Community Awards 2023/24.
This initiative is centred on the critical role trees play in combatting the climate crisis. As they absorb CO2, trees provide a cooling shade beneath their leafy canopy and promote biodiversity by nurturing local wildlife habitats.
The collective efforts of More Trees for B&NES have culminated in the planting of 11,000 trees since 2008, with the long-term purpose of a greener, more sustainable future for Bath.
