WHERE TO GIVE BLOOD IN BATH

NHS locations in and around bath accept blood donations, in permanent donor centres to pop-up community venues. To meet current demands, the NHS requires 1.45 million units of blood annually. Therefore, blood donation centres are eager to welcome all eligible donors.

How does blood donation work?

A blood donation is taken from your arm and collected in a donation bag.

The appointment takes around an hour, including 10 to 15 minutes to donate, plus time to have a drink and a snack.

You can donate again if you want to, leaving at least 12 weeks between appointments for men and 16 weeks for women.

  • be generally fit and well
  • be aged between 17 and 65
  • weigh between 7 stone 12 lbs (50kg) and 25 stone (158kg)
