FLOG IT! PRESENTER PAUL MARTIN TO HOST VALUATION DAY IN BRADFORD ON AVON

Well known popular TV antique expert, Paul Martin, will be sharing his knowledge and experience with Wiltshire residents on Wednesday 5th June by hosting a free community valuation day at The B.O.A Teapot in Bradford on Avon.

The valuation day, which is being run in partnership with world renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10am – 3pm and is intended to encourage members of the public to dust off those items they’ve always been curious about and bring them along to be discussed, valued and perhaps sold.

Paul would be delighted to see items ranging from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria and jewellery.

The day is part of a programme of valuation days being run Paul in his role with Henry Aldridge & Son and Paul says he is excited to see what the people of Bradford on Avon will bring along.

“Hosting these types of days in Wiltshire is fantastic," said Paul. "This part of the country is steeped in history, and its residents are incredibly generous with their time and curiosity. I'm confident we'll encounter some captivating items and gain valuable insights from the stories that accompany them."

Nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds and overlooking the River Avon, Bradford on Avon boasts a truly unique charm. At its heart lies an ancient bridge, a testament to its rich history, with two original 13th-century arches still standing proudly. From this vantage point, visitors can see the hill adorned with historic weavers' cottages, while the riverbank is lined with remnants of the town's industrious past in the form of 19th-century cloth mills.

Bobby Morady owns the venue where the event will take place, known as The Teapot. He said “We don’t normally host events like this but it is an honour to have Paul hosting a valuation day with us. Our café is at the forefront of Bradford on Avon, and I’m sure it will be a great event.

"Given the depth of the local history, we're always anticipating the unexpected," Paul said. "Wiltshire is home to families with roots tracing back generations, so it wouldn't be surprising to encounter heirlooms linked to the area's rich heritage. The beauty of community valuation days lies in their unpredictability; they're brimming with surprises waiting to be uncovered.”

“Even though I am a tv presenter and still enjoy my broadcast career, I’m an antiques man at heart and these events allow me to get back to what drives me — the people, their objects and the stories they tell.”

Paul, who presented the BBC show, Flog It! is also known for TV shows such as Antiques Road Trip and Britain’s Hidden Heritage, and has a new programme, Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown, that started on My5 this month.
