RARE ROLEX WATCH WORTH AT LEAST £16,000 GOES UNDER THE HAMMER IN WILTSHIRE

A rare Rolex ‘Attack Force’ watch made in 2014 as part of a small collection to commemorate UK Apache operations is up for sale at RWB Auctions in Royal Wootton Bassett next week (Wednesday March 27).

The watch is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Explorer II Military limited edition UK Attack Helicopter Force wristwatch. It bears the Chief of Staff name: 'Lt Col RGJ Stein' and was bought in December 2015. The owner has made the decision to sell the watch. 

Auctioneer Gareth Wasp said: “We are delighted to be offering this very rare Rolex watch. As they were made in such limited numbers this makes it very appealing to both collectors and watch dealers alike.

“The small group of Attack Force watches were commissioned in 2014 by the Military and produced by Rolex to commemorate UK Apache operations. They were offered to the longest serving members of the British Army Air Corps, this one to Chief of Staff Lt Col RGJ Stein.”

RWB Auctions opened its doors earlier this year and it represents an investment of around £3m in the High Street by entrepreneur Jon White. The premises houses the auction house, an art gallery and a bistro which will open its doors in the coming weeks. 

The auction house’s estimate for the Rolex is at least £16,000 and it will go under the hammer as lot 448 in a Jewellery, Silver and Watches sale on Wednesday March 27. Interested collectors can view by appointment and bid online via www.rwbauctions.com
