7 ways to enjoy a day out with the family at SouthGate Bath this half term

Looking for things to do in Bath with family this half term? With a whole host of shops, restaurants, bars and a cinema, SouthGate Bath is the perfect place. Here are our top tips for how to get the most out of your family visit.

1.   Take advantage of great dining deals for kids

Whatever you’re in the mood for, our SouthGate Bath restaurants and cafes have something for the whole family. If you have little ones in tow then check out Nandos’ dedicated Nandinos set menu which offers three courses for £10. If a burger and fries is more your vibe, head to Smashburger Southgate Bath, where they’re renowned for using a unique cooking method of “smashing” the beef burger onto a hot buttered grill to produce a burger unlike any other. Grab a kids meal for less than £5 which includes a main, fries and a drink. Introduce your little ones to a world of exotic flavours at YO! Sushi with its Mini Ninja menu. It’s £6.50 for a main, side and drink, plus an extra £1.50 for a dessert. Every meal comes with a portion of popping edamame beans and to keep kids entertained – and parents relaxed – the back of the menu is filled with puzzles, quizzes and stuff to draw.

2.   Enjoy Italian favourites at Prezzo and Pizza Express

If Italian is more your style, dining with kids at Prezzo is made easier with their kids menu, offering a selection of mini meals such as a Bambini Pizza and Mini Calzone. With three courses for £6.75 there’s something for every kid to enjoy. You could also head to Pizza Express for its Piccolo Menu – a selection of child-friendly sized starters, mains, sides and desserts. Featuring smaller portions of favourites such as pasta Bolognese or Napoletana, Margherita and American pizzas, as well as a Piccolo Sundae or Chocolate Brownie. Kids can also join in on an after meal hot drink with a Bambinoccino.

3.   Bring a taste of Spain to the city

Tapas Revolution is serving up a taste of Spain for the whole family, making it a great place to get your staycation started. Kids can choose from a dedicated menu for little ones, including Spanish Style Meatballs, Classic Spanish Omelette and Paella.

4.   Dine on the outdoor terrace at Cosy Club

It’s also worth checking out Cosy Club, a beautiful bar and restaurant complete with a stunning balcony and outdoor terrace seating overlooking SouthGate Place. Don’t be put off by the stylish surroundings - children are very welcome and can choose from a whole host of delicious food on the kids menu, including Buttermilk Pancakes, a Mezze Picnic and Fruit Sundae. All main courses come with a free juice drink, too.

5.   Watch a movie at Tivoli

A visit to Tivoli, a new boutique cinema concept, is certainly one of the top things to do in Bath. With luxurious extra-wide sofas and four intimate screens, it’s the perfect way for film-loving families to kick back and relax. There also the brilliant Tivoli café, serving a seasonal menu of small plates, sharing platters, gourmet burgers, and freshly prepared hand-stretched pizzas, all made with locally sourced ingredients. For dessert, prepare for the kids to ask for the delicious sundaes – made with local Marshfield Farms ice-cream. It’s always best to book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

6.   Stock up on new season essentials

With so many shops in one place, you’re spoilt for choice at SouthGate Bath. Whether you’re looking for a new wardrobe, toys to keep the kids entertained, or furniture and accessories to give your home glow up, there’s something for everyone. From H&M, Apple and New Look to the Typo, Boots and My Small World, you’re never far from your favourite stores.

7.   Make it a fuss-free journey

Whether you’re arriving by car, train or bicycle, it is super easy for families to get here. If you’re travelling by train, you’ll find us just opposite Bath Spa train station. If you’d prefer to drive to us then we have more than 800 spaces at the SouthGate Bath car park, with bays for parents with children and 12 electric car charging points.  There are also spaces to park your bike at The Vaults and in level -2 in the car park.
